Vector-borne protozoal and rickettsial diseases

Tick- and tsetse-fly-borne protozoal and rickettsial infections are of great importance in tropical and subtropical Africa. There are currently four programmes addressing various aspects, such as taxonomy, biology and control of the vectors, and epidemiology, diagnosis and control of the diseases.
