Molecular parasitology and genetics of ticks and tick-borne diseases
The application of an array of molecular-, genetics-, and computational techniques to evaluate the genetic diversity of South African tick species, development of anti-tick vaccines applicable to a vast array of South African cattle breeds, as well as improvement of available drugs against apicomplexan tick-borne diseases.
