Clinical anatomy consists of advanced anatomy involving soft tissues, bones and microscopical structures. It is relevant to the safe and successful performance of invasive surgical, radiological and emergency procedures as well as imaging anatomy using modern imaging techniques such as computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), sonar and endoscopy. It has close links with the clinical disciplines with regard to the development of new or improved treatment protocols and procedures.
