Information Systems
Bentley and Whitten (2007, p 6) provides the following definition: "an arrangement of people, data, processes, and information technology that interact to collect, process, store and provide as output the information needed to support an organisation".
Sperotto defines Modern Industrial Engineering as follows:“… being concerned with the integration of resources and processes into cohesive strategies, structures and systems for the effective and efficient production of quality goods and services”. Industrial Engineers should be concerned with the management of information systems, as these are as important as that of other assets (materials, people, machinery, finances).
