Operations Management

Operations Management seeks to address the complex issues of managing production of goods and services by deploying resources to meet market demands and expectations in a highly competitive, complex and dynamic environment laden with uncertainties. This spans issues of strategy and process management (station, line and network), especially with regards to capacity planning and inventory management. The focus is the reassessment of the assumptions of the existing operations management philosophies and theories that exist for addressing production systems uncertainties, with the intent of improving on the existing models built from the theories and philosophies or developing more fitting models and theories for the management of operational systems, whether goods or services.
