Investigation of infant deaths in Pretoria between 2000 and 2004: An audit with emphasis on investigation of sudden infant deaths

Sudden infant death syndrome is the leading cause of death in infants younger than 1 year of age in many countries. Most countries have a national protocol for investigation of such deaths. This study aims to audit the medico-legal investigation of infant deaths, special emphasis will be on infants who are presented as possilble crib cases
